I love love love Lemons!!!

 

For years, the first thing I do in the morning is take warm lemon water. IT’S MAGIC!!!

 

Lemons are one of the most ALKALINE food there is, and are packed with nutrients, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and antioxidants. They are especially good sources of vitamin C and folate.

 

BENEFITS of drinking warm lemon water:

      1. Protects the body against immune system deficiencies:  Vitamin C plays a role in immunity and helps neutralize free radicals in our body.

      2. Balances to maintain the pH levels in the body.

      3. Aids digestion, encouraging the production of bile, and relieves symptoms of indigestion (heartburn, burping and bloating).

      4. Helps prevent the growth and multiplication of pathogenic bacteria that cause infections and diseases.

      5. The potassium content in lemon helps nourish brain and nerve cells.

      6. Immense benefit to the skin and it prevents the formation of wrinkles and acne.

It’s so amazing, make it a point to begin your day with a glass of warm lemon water, and enjoy its benefits. Add a little raw honey or slice of ginger and get a quick boost!

 

However, it is very important to note that when lemon juice comes directly in contact with the teeth, it can ruin the enamel on the teeth. Therefore, it is advised to consume it diluted and also rinse your mouth thoroughly afterwards.
